About the Artists
Sydney Anderson, soprano

Soprano Sydney E. Anderson is a native of Gasport, New York, and currently resides in Houston, Texas. She is quickly gaining recognition as a versatile and accomplished artist on both concert and opera stages.

In 2016, Ms. Anderson celebrated her main stage debut with Houston Grand Opera as Arminy in Carousel.

Ms. Anderson holds a double Bachelors Degree from The Hartt School of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education, and a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Houston’s prestigious Moores School of Music. Her most recent performance in WNY was with Maestro Ferington and the Buffalo Philharmonic in June 2015.

Amherst Central High School Concert Chorale
The Concert Chorale is the culminating ensemble of the Amherst High School vocal music department. Rehearsing one period per day, Chorale is an elective, auditioned choir open to 10th – 12th graders. Expectations for performance are high, and singers are expected to develop their music literacy, vocal technique, musicianship, and listening skills..

Buffalo Master Chorale
The Master Chorale, formed in 2012, is a 50-member auditioned ensemble of experienced volunteer and professional adult singers from diverse backgrounds. Daniel Bassin has recently accepted the position of Music Director, beginning with our 2017 - 2018 season. The Chorale’s repertoire includes chamber music and choral symphonic literature, opera, modern-day works by living composers, gospel, popular music, and commissioned pieces.

Justin Pomietlarz
Currently in his 12th year of teaching at Amherst High School, Justin Pomietlarz is a 1997 and 2004 piano performance/music education graduate of SUNY Fredonia. Mr. Pomietlarz began his teaching career in the Rochester City School District and subsequently at Marion High School in rural Wayne County and at Hauppauge High School in Suffolk County, Long Island.
