About the Artists
James Wright, baritone
Described by critics as "tremendous," "entertaining" and "talented," baritone James Wright is a favorite among audiences for his charismatic presence and warm tone. This season, James will be covering Figaro in il Barbiere di Siviglia with Sarasota Opera where he will also be a studio artist.
He has made appearances with Nickel City Opera, Amarillo Opera, Mobile Opera, the Savannah Voice Festival, Hillman Opera, Sarasota Opera, El Paso Opera, Nickel City Opera, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Divaria Productions, Rochester Lyric Opera, the Natchez Festival of Music and more.

Robert Haussmann, cellist
As native Western New Yorker and proud Amherst Tiger, Robbie is making his third solo appearance, the first two under the baton of ASO founder Joseph Wincenc.
The Amherst Schools provided an excellent musical foundation for him as he continued cello studies with BPO cellists William Faulbusch and Robert Carapetyan.
First at Juilliard and then Eastman gave him further studies with renowned teachers Harvey Shapiro and his lifelong mentor Paul Katz.
In 1982, Mr. Haussmann won a position with the BPO and has had the privilege of playing under Maestros Rudel, Bychkov, Valdez and Falletta. Additionally, Robbie has been a longtime member of Ars Nova Musicians under Maestra Mary Louise Nanna.
Championing the works of lesser known Jewish composers is one of his important passions. The ASO connection a family affair. His mother Britla enjoyed 17 years as a violist with the ASO.
